Andy Tucker joined the Suffolk men’s soccer coaching staff in the summer of 2015 and begins his second season as assistant coach of the Rams in 2016.
Tucker helped the blue-and-gold make their eighth straight GNAC postseason tournament appearance in his first season in 2015 as assistant despite a challenging regular season. The eighth-seeded Rams fell to the top seed, Johnson & Wales, in the quarterfinals to cap off the year 2-16-1 overall. Ben Daniels highlighted the squad's effort with a third team conference selection.
In 2016 Tucker helped Suffolk to its ninth consecutive GNAC postseason appearance thanks in large part to the most conference wins (6-3) since joining the league ranks in 1999. With home field advantage as the tournament’s fourth seed, Suffolk took down sixth seeded Albertus Magnus before its campaign came to an end in the semis at regular season champion Saint Joseph’s (Maine). The 9-10 overall Rams saw five student-athletes combine for six all-league honors. Jarrett Davis highlighted the group with GNAC Rookie of the Year honors to along with third-team recognition along with classmate Christian Restrepo. Senior Alberto Bittan grabbed first-team honors, while fellow senior Ben Daniels and sophomore Jordan Casey were selected to the second team.
Tucker was a four-year member of the nationally ranked Wester New England men’s soccer team. Prior to his time with the Golden Bears, he was a well-known presence on the field, captaining his Club team for four years. A former player of head coach James Boden, Tucker is looking forward to sharing his knowledge of the game.
Tucker holds his NSCAA Regional Diploma, US Youth Futsal Level 1 Coaching Certification and also coaches two club teams.
The Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts native, Tucker earned his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from WNE with a concertation in Sports Management in 2012.
