The Suffolk University Volleyball team split a GNAC Tri-Match double header on Saturday defeating Pine Manor College, 3-0 before falling to host Mount Ida College 3-0.
Sophomore Melissa Griffin (Byfield, MA) had seven kills and four service assists in the Rams' victory over the Gators to open up play in game one. Suffolk won the three games: 25-16, 25-12 and 25-12. Senior Kelsey Armstrong-Hann (Corvallis, OR) added four kills and three services aces while freshman Jennifer Duston (Nashua, NH) had three service aces as well. Junior Kelly Loder (Billerica, MA) had eight kills, four aces and two solo blocks, while junior Julie Sullivan (Haverhill, MA) picked up a season-high 24 setting assists in the win.
In game two, Loder led the Rams with nine kills, while sophomore Tanya Fortes (Pembroke, MA) had eight kills. Amstrong-Hann had a team high eight digs to go aloing with four kills and one of the Rams' two service aces in the match. Suffolk fell by scores of: 25-20, 25-23 and 25-9.
The Rams will be back in action on Monday as they host Lesley University in a non-conference matchup at 7:00pm.
