Title: Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Bennie Wilkins joined Suffolk women’s basketball as an assistant coach on Ed Leyden’s staff in 2025. He brings more than a decade of experience across collegiate coaching, recruiting, and athletic operations to Ram Nation.

Most recently, Wilkins guided recruiting efforts at Indiana University - East, where he spent two seasons as assistant women’s basketball coach and recruiting coordinator. 

Prior to his coaching days at Indiana, he began as the Director of Operations and Facilities at Indiana University – Indianapolis, overseeing budgets, supervising event staff, and leading capital projects.

Before heading to the Midwest, Wilkins built a strong foundation in Division III athletics at Wellesley College, where he served for three years as Assistant Athletics Director of Operations for Facilities & Events, managing travel budgets and game-day operations for 13 varsity sports.

His coaching career began more than a decade ago, first at Wheelock College in 2010, followed by two seasons at Fisher College, and then two more years as Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Wentworth Institute of Technology where he worked with the Leopards until 2016.

Alongside his collegiate work, Wilkins sharpened his event management and player development skills as a Site Director with Zero Gravity from 2009 into the early 2010s and by contributing to the Philadelphia 76ers summer camp during that same stretch.
