Suffolk Women's Basketball Host Pink Zone Game

Suffolk Women's Basketball Host Pink Zone Game

On February 17th Suffolk University Women’s Basketball will host the Johnson & Wales Wildcats at the Regan Gymnasium at 8:00 pm. Suffolk University Women’s Basketball and the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has partnered with the Women's Basketball Coaches' Assocation (WBCA) to host "Pink Zone" basketball games during the week of February 13-22, 2009. All women's basketball games during the week will raise funds for the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.

Prior to the game players from both teams will be wearing pink warm-up shirts to show their support for this initiative. The Suffolk University Athletic Department asks all those planning to attend to also wear pink to show their support. The event will also be in conjunction with Rams Spirit Night beginning at 6:00 pm as the Men’s Basketball team takes on Norwich University.

The WBCA Pink Zone™ initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.

We ask that everyone in attendance wear pink to help show their support. This will be the second year Suffolk has taken part in this campaign. The Rams donned the pink shirts for a home game last February against Emmanuel College.
