Women's Soccer Awarded for Academic Excellence

The 2007-08 Suffolk University Women's Soccer was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for their Team Academic Award. In their first year as a varsity squad the women's soccer team posted a team GPA of 3.25. Under Coach Ernst Cleophat's direction Suffolk was one of 259 college women's teams to recieve this recognition. "I always tell my players, here at Suffolk University your academics are your first priority, everything else is second. I am very proud of them," Cleophat says.

Based in Kansas City, Kan., the NSCAA is the largest coaches' organization in the United States. Since its founding in 1941, it has grown to include more than 26,000 members who coach both genders at all levels of the sport. In addition to a national rankings program for colleges and high schools, NSCAA offers an extensive recognition program that presents nearly 10,000 individual awards every year.
