BOSTON – Suffolk University Athletics is excited to announce a NCAA Division III event, Recognizing our Leadership Through Cultural Differences, Thursday April 9 at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court at 12:00 p.m.
The hour-long presentation will be put on by two members of the NCAA Office of Inclusion, which leads, educates and supports student-athletes, administrators and coaches to foster well-being and belonging across college sports and beyond. The membership drives this work through the Committee on Access, Opportunity, and Impact, with the office of inclusion facilitating and supporting these efforts. Niya Blair Hackworth, the Director of Curriculum and Internal Engagement, will headline the discussion and she will be joined by her colleague Tyler Noragon, the Assistant Director of Education and Communication.
The conversation will be centered around three topics:
- Diverse perspectives lead to more creative solutions
- How to create safe spaces to ask questions, admit ignorance's and offer grace
- Understand systemic barriers, while fostering a sense of belonging through sports
