BOSTON – With the 2017 NCAA Championship over a week away, the Suffolk baseball team has added a doubleheader at Bates Thursday, May 11 to its schedule to stay active before the Big Dance. First pitch of the opener is scheduled for 2 p.m.
The Rams punched their third consecutive ticket to NCAAs with a threepeat GNAC Championship Sunday night with a 1-0 victory over Johnson & Wales at Fraser Field. GNAC Pitcher of the Year and tournament MVP Chuck Gibson threw a complete-game, three-hit, eight-strikeout shutout to lead the Rams to their third straight conference crown.
After taking on the Bobcats Thursday, Suffolk awaits the pairing and seeding of the 2017 NCAA Championship field, set to be announced Monday, May 15.
