Suffolk was swept in a non-conference doubleheader at Western New England Saturday by scores of 4-1 and 15-0.
RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk looks to snap a four-game skid that put the blue-and-gold at 4-12 on the season.
Brady Chantleads the way for the Rams offensively as the senior centerfield has 25 hits behind a .424/.485/.678 slash line for nine RBI and 11 runs scored. Eight of his 25 hits are good for extra bases with four doubles and three jacks. Classmate Seth Coileyis second on the squad with a .370 average with 20 hits to his credit for four RBI and eight runs scored. Will Hopkinsrounds out the Rams hitting over .300 with the freshman connecting at a .306 clip with 15 hits, four RBI and seven runs scored.
On the hill, Charles Batchelderand Kevin Sinatrahave seen the most action with 24.0 innings with each owning 10 Ks apiece. Batchelder holds a staff best 2.25 ERA while Sinatra boasts a 3.75 ERA. Mark Fuscois also a top arm for Suffolk as the senior RHP brings in a 2.49 ERA in 21.2 innings of action with 18 strikeouts to his credit.
GET TO KNOW THE GULLS
Endicott picked up a 7-4 victory over Wesleyan Friday afternoon to improve to 9-3 on the season.
Michael DeDonato is the most potent at the plate as the senior second basemen as team-high numbers in batting average (.420), RBI (15), hits (21) and runs scored (13). Senior outfielder Michael Casciano is also a big threat at the dish with 15 hits on a .405 average with six RBI and eight runs scored.
The Gulls top two arms are Will Ferreira and Alexander Mandrus, who each have worked 17.1 innings on the mound. Ferreira, a southpaw, brings in a 3.63 ERA with seven Ks, while Mandrus holds a 1.56 ERA with 13 strikeouts. Joseph Oriola is the top arm for fanning batters with 14 punch outs in 11.0 innings for a team-high 0.82 ERA.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Suffolk and Endicott will meet for the 23rd time Monday afternoon. Overall, the Rams trail the all-time series, which began in 1999, 9-14. The Gulls picked up both wins in a doubleheader last season in Beverly.
