2025 ABCA REGION ALL-DEFENSIVE TEAM
BOSTON – Suffolk baseball's third baseman Chris Cimino has been named to the ABCA Region II All-Defensive Team, the American Baseball Coaches' Association (ABCA) announced Thursday morning.
The accolade is voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
Players selected to the ABCA NCAA DIII Region All-Defensive teams were eligible for ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove honors, which were announced yesterday, Wednesday, June 18 on abca.org.
Cimino, who brought his talents to Ram Nation as a graduate student from Bates, held down the hot corner for Suffolk's defensive line-up in 38 games. The Scarborough, Maine, native assembled a .953 fielding percentage with 38 putouts and 83 assists in 127 total chances with just six mishaps.
Cimino is the first Ram to be recognized with a regional defensive honor by the ABCA, which has handed out regional All-Defensive Team distinctions since 2023. This year, he is one of five student-athletes from the Conference of New England (CNE) to pick up the feat alongside Western New England's pitcher Jared Kuryan and Endicott's catcher John Mulready, shortstop TJ Liponis and outfielder Zach Stephenson.
