DAVENPORT, Fla. – Suffolk baseball's offense never got going, while Ohio Northern capitalized on a number of Rams mishaps to take down the blue-and-gold 13-2 Monday afternoon at the NERP Baseball Complex as part of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Polar Bears put up two runs in the first, second and third to put Suffolk in a 6-0 hole.
- The Rams broke onto the board in the home half of the third. Singles by Noah Greco and Luke Thorntonplace runners on first and second, but Colin Flynn grounded into a double play to put two outs on the board. Luckily, Greco advanced to third on the play in time for Cole Hilliard to hit a base hit to second to slice the margin to five, 6-1.
- After a scoreless fourth, Ohio Northern scored three more in the fifth to extend its edge to 9-1.
- The teams traded one run in the eighth. Suffolk's came behind Jack Mihlachik's sac fly that plated Sam Armbruster, who tripled.
- The Polar Bears tacked on three more runs in the ninth and the Rams were unable to take advantage of a pair of base runners in scoring position on a Grego single and Thornton walk, to keep it 13-2 as the game went final on a Hilliard ground out to short.
PITCHERS PICTURE
- Colin McNeal started and allowed nine runs, eight earned, on seven hits and three walks with one strikeover over 5.0 innings.
- Nick Rubin (2.0 IP, 1 BB, 3 K) and Ian Maude (2.0 IP, 4 R, 8 H, 2 K) came out of the pen for Suffolk.
- Brayden Windnagel earned the decision behind a one-run, nine-hit, one-walk, four-strikeout effort over 6.0 innings.
- Chase Polunus threw the final 3.0 frames and allowed one run on three hits and one walk with one punchout.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Mihalchik, Greco, Flynn and Hilliard all had two hits.
- Both of Flynn's hits were doubles.
- Mihalchik and Hilliard brought in one run each.
- Greco and Armbruster scored one run apiece.
- Armbruster's hit was good for a triple.
- Stephen Nardelli, Thornton and Sebastian Lampert rounded out the Rams with one hit each.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk met Ohio Northern for the third time in program history.
- Flynn had a career-high two doubles.
- Hilliard (4 hits) extended his hit streak to three games.
- Mihalchik matched a personal-best two hits.
- Greco notched a career-best two hits.
