Men’s Basketball Handles Lesley, 92-54

BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball returned to the win column in convincing fashion with a 92-54 victory over Lesley Thursday night at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk used the first four minutes to build a 16-0 advantage. The game-owning run featured a first-possession triple from Jonathan Eng, a fast-break dunk by Max Bonney-Liles and six points from William Rowe.  

Lesley managed to connect over the next set of four minutes. The Lynx scoring was no match for the Rams' offensive output as the hosts remained ahead by a comfortable amount, 21-6, as Alex Jacovides sunk a trey at the 13:05 minute mark.  

Aidan Sullivan, Brendan Mulson and Cameron Powers all got in on the scoring show. Each shooter in the trio buried a bucket from three-point land to push Suffolk's cushion to 32-10 with 9:20 left in the first frame, which forced the Lynx to use a timeout.  

The 20-point margin remained in the Rams favor and grew to as many as 35 when Jacovides knocked down a triple with 40 seconds to go in the first half. The junior's third trey on the night sent Suffolk into the break with a 56-21 cushion.  

Suffolk slowly built a 40-point deficit over the first 10 minutes of the second stanza. Powers' second ball from downtown made it a 75-32 Rams game at the midway point of the half, before Jacovides fourth long ball of the night extend the distance to 44 with 8:14 minute mark.  

Lesley made a late push, but it was not enough to close the gap as the Rams went to take the battle, 92-54.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERES

• Fourteen different players contributed at least two points to the Rams' offensive output. 
• Jacovides anchored the attack with 20 points on an 8-for-13 showing from the field, which including a 4-for-9 effort from behind-the-arc. He added three caroms, three assists and one block. 
• Mulson and Rowe each had 10 points to round out the Rams in double figures. They each had two caroms as well. Rowe recorded three takeaways, while Mulson dished out two heleprs. 
• Nate Hale was on the verge of double figures with eight points to go along with three boards. 
• Andrew Fraioli had an all-around outing with nine points and seven boards. 
• Suffolk shot 48.6 percent (34-70) from the field, 39.4 percent (13-33).  from three-point range and 73.3 percent (11-15) at the free throw line. 
• The Rams outrebounded the Lynx, 47-33.  

NOTEWORTHY

• Suffolk rattled off its fourth straight win over Lesley to move to 4-1 all-time versus the Lynx. 
• All of the Rams' four wins against the Lynx have come under Jeff Juron's guidance. 
• The victory was the largest margin of victory (38) over the Lynx in program history. 
• Rowe recorded a career-high three steals. 
• Aidan Sullivan matched a personal-best in points (3) and rebounds (1), while notching new career highs in assists (4).
• Kobie Reid registered the first rebounds in his career, pulling down a pair of caroms. 
• Conor Creane produced a career-high in points (5), free throws made (2) and rebounds (2). 
• Cameron Powers matched a personal-best in rebounds with four to his credit. 
• Fraioli wrote new career bests in points (9), rebounds (7) and free throws made (3).
