Men’s Golf in 13th After Day 1 of NEIGA Championships

BREWSTER, Mass. – Suffolk men's golf holds onto 13th at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships after 18 holds of play at the Captains Golf Course. 

Suffolk shot a 318 (+30) to hold onto 13th in the 22-team field. The blue-and-gold is just two strokes behind Eastern Connecticut State and Gordon and three strokes outside the top 10. The Rams' Conference of New England (CNE) counterpart sits atop the leaderboard as the Gulls are even at 288. Bates and Hartford round out the top three with a 301, while Roger Williams and Husson are in the mix as well with 302 each.  

Vijay Sakuru shares 19th with 12 players with a 76 (+4). 

Jake Zirlin is four strokes behind Suffolk's leader for a share of 46th. 

Jonathan Donovan and Christopher Sinopoli are in a tie for 54th with an 81. 

Trey Connolly rounds out the Rams on the course with an 82, good for a share of 64th. 

Suffolk wraps up play at NEIGAs tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 20.
