CANTON, N.Y. – Suffolk men's golf got its 2025-26 campaign underway with a sixth-place performance at the St. Lawrene Invitational over the weekend at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course.
The Rams finished in the middle of the 13-team pack with a two-day score of 630 (+54). Clarkson won the event with a 699, while the host St. Lawrence slid into second with 609 and Hobart's 611 rounded out the podium.
Ryan Mollica grabbed a share of 10th with a two-day score of 152. The junior shot a 75 (+3) on the 6,698-yard course on day one and added two strokes on the second day of action.
Senior Jonathan Donovan, who was in a share for sixth after Saturday's action with a 74 (+2) dipped down to a share of 15th with a two-day card of 155.
Senior captain Christopher Sinopoli tied for 33rd in the field of 70 with a 160.
Donovan's and Sinopoli's classmates Tyler Anastasi and Trey Connolly placed 40th and 50th, respectively. The former finished with a 163 and the latter was two strokes behind him.
Suffolk is set to get back in action Sept. 13-14 at the Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, Vermont.
