Gallagher Grabs All-CNE

CNE Release

BEVERLY, Mass. – Michael Gallagher of the Suffolk men's golf team earned All-Conference of New England status following his performance at the 2025 CNE Championship Oct. 4-5 at the Tumble Brooke Country Club, the league office announced.

Gallagher, a sophomore from Novi, Michigan, was a standout for Suffolk individually over the two-day league championship. On day one he shot a plus-2 on the par-72 course to be a in the mix in the topfive of the 45-golfer field. The second day on the green he carded a 79 to finish with a 36-hole score of 153, good fro a share of 12th en route to a spot on the All-CNE Third Team.

The accolade is not only a first for Gallagher, but marks the first time a Suffolk student-athlete earned an all-league honor since the trio of Cameron SinopoliChristopher Sinopoli and Vijay Sakuru took home all-conference in 2023. He is the second-ever sophomore to earn the feat, first since Christopher Sinopoli became the youngest all-conference honoree in program history as a sophomore in 2023.

All-CNE distinction is awarded to the top 12 finishers (and more with ties) at the CNE Championship broken down to first-team (1-4), second-team (5-8) and third-team (9-12).

Gallagher's trophy case already had an accolade on its shelf as he was presented with the 2025 Elite 21 award at the league tournament, which is handed out to the student-athlete, sophomore or above, at the CNE Championship with the highest GPA. The marketing major picked up the feat with a 3.963 cumulative GPA. He is the first Suffolk men's golfer to garner the award and third-ever Ram to do so, first since softball's Julia Newcomb in 2025.

On top of Gallagher's recognition, Trey Connolly represented the Rams on the CNE Community Service Team for the second straight season. The league's community service team is made up of one member from every institution that demonstrates a commitment to their community. The senior assistant captain is the only Suffolk student-athlete to make the CNE Community Service Team for men's golf since the award began in 2024.

Since joining the CNE in 2020-21, Suffolk has collected 11 All-CNE awards -- two scholar-athlete, one rookie of the year, three first-team, three second-team, and two third-team selections. Overall, the Rams trophy case shelf features 14 all-league honors with three during its stint in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.

The Rams wrap up their 2025 fall slate at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships this weekend, Oct. 18-19 at Captain's Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.
