QUINCY, Mass. – Suffolk men's golf got its 2026 spring slate underway with a second-place performance at the Lynx Invitational hosted by Lesley University at the President Golf Club Thursday.
Ten (10) strokes separated the first three teams in the quad-invite that featured Emmanuel, New England College, Suffolk and the host Lesley. The Rams finished second with a team-card of 310, five strokes behind the Saints, while the Pilgrims rounded out the podium with a 315. The Lynx rounded out the group with a 343.
Trey Connolly headed the Rams on the course. Suffolk's senior shot two strokes over par (70) to finish as the runner-up behind Emmanuel's Ryan Brunet (71) in the 30-golfer field.
Sophomore Michael Gallagher shared third with New England College's Dalton Gordon with a 75.
Patricio Zapiain, who joined the Rams ranks at the mid-year break, put together an 80 in his debut, good for a tied of ninth.
Josh Gross (83) and Perry Gaudreau (84) finished one after another in 15th and 16th, respectively, to round out the Rams on the course.
The one-day event served as a tune-up for its first two-day tournament of the spring, the RWU Invitational, on tap this weekend, April 12-13 at Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
