Suffolk men’s hockey was tripped up by Worcester State in the consolation contest for the 58th Codfish Bowl Saturday afternoon at Edward T. Barry Ice Rink on the campus of UMass Boston.

BOSTON – Suffolk men's hockey was tripped up by Worcester State in the consolation contest for the 58th Codfish Bowl Saturday afternoon at Edward T. Barry Ice Rink on the campus of UMass Boston.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Worcester Stated scored three unanswered goals one in each period before Suffolk broke onto the board late the final frame of regulation for the 3-1 final.
The Rams goal came on the power play at the 13:43 mark of the third. Down 3-0, Scott McManus put the puck away with help from Cody Sealey and Jack Kircher.
Hoping that strike would spark a comeback, Suffolk was only able to get five shots on target the rest of the way, three of which came in the final two minutes when CJ Hapward left his post between the pipes. Jakub Kubik turned aside the handful of blue-and-gold attempts to seal Suffolk's setback fate.
