Quartet Elected 2025 Men’s Soccer Captains

BOSTON – At the end of the 2025 preseason, Suffolk men's soccer has named its leadership unit for the 2025 season. Senior Matthew Belluardo was named captain and grad student Faisal Bajunaid, senior Ford Lee and junior Ricardo Feliciani were tabbed vice captains following a vote by their teammates.

"I'm excited for what this group of leaders will provide us," head coach Bill Maddock said. "Our captain and vice captains embody what it means to be part of Suffolk men's soccer."

Maddock continued, "They are our biggest culture drivers. I'm confident that they will challenge all to rise to the standards of our program every single day."

All members of the group will serve as the Rams' captain for the first time. The foursome is the largest group to captain Suffolk's squad since four student-athletes shared the role in the 2019 season.

Belluardo, a Mahwah, New Jersey product, is a two-time all-conference selection -- first-team in 2023 and second-team in 2024 -- on the back line. Throughout the course of his career, he has played 55 games, started 51 and supplied 25 points on 11 goals, including six games, and three assists.

Lee, a midfielder from Atlanta, Georgia, has laced up his boots in 38 games with the start in 10. Last season he had a career-highs in points (3), all off assists.

Feliciani has started all, but two of the 41 games he has appeared. The defender from Weston, Florida, was recognized for his efforts a year ago with a spot on the all-league's third-team.

Bajunaid, a transfer from Merrimack College, joined the Rams ranks a year ago. Suffolk went unbeaten in all five games the midfielder appeared.

With the captain roles filled, the Rams are on the eve of their 2025 opener, a Friday, Aug. 29 1:00 p.m. first kick at Dean.
