2025 CNE MEN'S SOCCER TOURNAMENT BRACKET | CNE MEN'S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk men's soccer has secured the second seed in the 2025 Conference of New England (CNE) Tournament, the league office announced.
It is the second time in as many seasons that the Rams clinched the second seed in the CNE tourney, which ties the highest finish by a Suffolk squad in a conference postseason in program history.
The blue-and-gold captured the No. 2 spot in the six-team field with 22 points on a 7-1-2 league ledger, not only the most conference triumphs for the Rams in the CNE tenure, but in the game-by-game record book, which dates back to 2001.
As the second seed, Suffolk escapes first round play, which is scheduled to start Saturday, Nov. 1, and moves into the semifinals, which the Rams will host at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m.
It will be the second time in program history and in as many years, that Suffolk men's soccer will put on the hosting hat for a conference semifinal. The match will be the Rams' 10th home postseason game overall. The blue-and-gold is 5-2-2 when hosting a league tournament tilt, including a 2-0-2 record in CNE postseason home clashes.
The Rams have competed in the conference semifinals seven times, including the last three years. Suffolk is 3-2-1 in league semifinal action, 2-0-1 in the CNE semis, and aims to reach the conference championship contest for the fourth time overall, third in the CNE and second consecutive campaign.
The blue-and-gold enter postseason play with momentum on its side, as they are unbeaten in its last five contests (4-0-1) and have won nine of its last 11. The Rams capped off that run and the regular season with a 2-0 shutout of Nichols last night, their 12th victory of the year, which marks the most wins in a single campaign in the program's season-by-season record book that dates back to 2001.
Suffolk awaits its semifinal foe, which will be determined this Saturday when No. 3 Johnson & Wales entertains No. 6 Endicott at 12:00 p.m. in the first round.
Johnson & Wales would be a new CNE postseason foe for Suffolk, however the opponents have played in a conference tournament three times while they both competed in the GNAC. The Rams have never taken down the Wildcats in the postseason, however, the blue-and-gold did defeat JWU earlier this season, 2-1, in Eastie Oct. 22.
The Rams and Gulls have postseason CNE history meanwhile, as they met twice, most recently in the first round in 2023 when Suffolk blanked Endicott, 1-0. The blue-and-gold is undefeated, 2-0-0, in postseason action against the Gulls.
On the other side of the bracket, top-seed and regular-season champion Roger Williams will face the winner of the first round action between No. 4 Hartford and No. 5 Western New England.
The CNE Champion will be crowned at the highest remaining seed Saturday, Nov. 8 and earn the league's automatic qualifier into the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship.
