Suffolk University has been chosen as the men's tennis preseason favorite of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference in a vote conducted by the league's coaches. The Rams, who finished 3-1 in conference play and 8-5 overall last season, received three first place votes and a total of 22 points in the GNAC men's tennis preseason poll.

First year Head Coach Isaac Stahl and the Rams will begin the 2009 season on March 12th as they take on MIT. Suffolk begins their conference schedule on the 21st of March as they host Norich University. Suffolk will play all of their home games at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols. 

The top four teams in the regular season standings will qualify for the conference playoffs. In the semifinal round, to be played on the Thursday, April 23, 2009, the #1 seed will host the #4 seed; and the #2 will host the #3 seed. The surviving teams will play for the championship on Saturday, April 25, 2009.
