BOSTON – Suffolk men's tennis will see a new player in the captain role in 2025 as head coach Scott Blanchard gave junior Mehdi Mered the title. He will begin his first year in the role.
"He has been a very key cog in our team for the last couple seasons, we are looking for big things from him this season," Blanchard said.
A year ago, the Algeria, Tlemcen local, compiled a team-best 4-5 singles record and played the majority of his time in the second slot where he went 4-4.
Mered holds the most experienced racked on the 10-player roster that features three newcomers and seven returners with an 8-11 overall singles record.
Suffolk's 2025 schedule is set to get underway this Sunday, March 9 at Colby Sawyer at 12:00 p.m.
