BOSTON – Suffolk men's tennis has back-to-back matches in store this weekend as it will host Hartford Wednesday, April 8 at 6:15 p.m., before it travels to the University of New England Thursday, April 9 at 3:00 p.m.

Suffolk men's tennis took a 6-1 Conference of New England (CNE) loss to Wentworth Saturday at The Weymouth Club.

RAMS RUNDOWN

  • Suffolk has fallen in four straight matches to sit 1-5 overall and in CNE contests. 
  • Christian Gardner is unbeaten in singles action with his time split between courts one (2-0) and two (1-0). 
  • Abhi Patel has also found the win column in singles play this season. He boasts a 1-5 ledger with his time divided between slots one (0-4) and two (1-1). 
  • The twosome of Gardner and Patel is the lone doubles partnership with a victory. That duo is 1-1 in doubles play as the team's top tandem. 

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS

  • Hartford holds a 1-11 overall record and 1-6 CNE ledger in its first varsity campaign. 
  • Jake Short (1-6) and Maxx Poss (0-5) have split time as the Hawks' ace. 
  • Jared DeGruttola is the winningest player ins ingles action at 3-9 with matches as No. 5 (2-6) and No. 6 (1-3).
  • In doubles, four different partnerships have combined forces as the top team headlined by the duo of Anthony Pomares and Yande Simunyola, who are 2-5. 
  • The second spot tandem of Short and Eli Benoit, meanwhile, hold a 3-2 ledger in doubles play. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and Hartford will meet for the first time.

NOR'EASTER NOTES

  • UNE, who is also in its inaugural campaign, brings a 3-3 record and 2-2 CNE mark into the week that opens at Gordon Wednesday. 
  • Drake Turcotte is 4-2 as the Nor'Easters top singles racquet, while Franco Leehive, UNE's No. 3, holds and identical singles record. 
  • Liam Miller and Leevhive are the usual top tandem for the Nor'Easters and sit 3-1 on the year. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Thursday's tilt will be the first-ever match between Suffolk and the University of New England.
