Men’s Indoor Track & Field’s 2021-22 Roster Boosted by 20 Newcomers

2021-22 SUFFOLK MEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD 

BOSTON – Suffolk men's indoor track & field's roster is one of the biggest to date and that's in large part to the 20 Rams rookies that head coach Will Feldman brought in over the off season. 

"We've done a great job bringing in a class that compliments an upperclassmen lead team that's looking to defend a conference championship," Feldman said. "It's a large incoming class that is well rounded and fills in the gaps we had coming into the season. I'm expecting big points out of this class at the GNAC championship especially in areas where we haven't been as strong in previous years."

Feldman continued, "We brought in a terrific group of hurdlers lead by Carter Nevulis who will also be one of the top jumpers in the conference this year. Aiden Barnett will be our first male pole vaulter in program history, and could find himself top three in the conference by season's end. Matthew Smith and Eddie McCarthy have had tremendous preseasons, and could break program records in the shot put and weight throw this year. I'm counting on them to score significant points in order for us to win another conference title."

A large portion of the group got their collegiate careers underway in the cross country season. "Thomas Novy, Tim Barry and Connor Hayward should pick right up where they left off after an excellent cross country season," Feldman said. "All three will be major contributors on the track with Barry and Novy both vying for individuals titles this season." 

The group features a pair of men's soccer players as well in Edward Abouzeid and Jack Cattie. 

In addition to these 20 individuals making their indoor debuts, last season's freshmen missed their indoor campaign due to COVID-19 and are set to get their first taste of indoor competition. 

The 2021-22 season lifts its lid at Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener Saturday, Dec. 4.
