CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Suffolk men's indoor track & field turned in a combined competitive performance Sunday at the USATF New England Indoor Track & Field Championship, competing at the Gordon Indoor Track on the campus of Harvard University, led by a school-record performance from Will Manix in the 400 meters and a victory in the 4x440 yard relay.
RAMS RUNNERS
- Michael Nossek led the way in the 60 dash, finishing sixth in 7.09.
- In the 60 hurdles, Tighe Hosman placed eighth with a time of 9.08.
- Nossek also paced Suffolk in the 200 with an eighth-place finish in 23.18. Connor Johnson followed in 18th in 23.74, Emmett St. Pierre placed 23rd in 23.94, Charlie Billard finished 27th in 24.07, and Hosman took 29th in 24.24.
- Will Manix delivered a record-setting performance in the 400, taking fourth place in 50.69 to establish a new school mark. St. Pierre followed in ninth (52.20), while Johnson finished 17th (53.11).
- The quartet of Hosman, Billard, St. Pierre, and Johnson capped the sprint events with a first-place finish in the 4x440 yard relay, crossing the line in 3:35.70.
- Sean Jacobsen led the Rams in the 5000 with a 23rd-place finish in 15:59.07. Matthew Ramarge placed 27th in 16:16.43, Jack Marston finished 29th in 16:25.59, and Hayden Green took 33rd in 16:32.20.
JUMPERS JIST
- Joshua Catino placed 10th in the pole vault after clearing 3.80 meters. Nico Carrillo finished 14th with a clearance of 3.45 meters.
FIELDERS FACTS
- George Mirogiannis secured a ninth-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 11.11 meters and Connor Brown followed in 11th with a heave of 10.11 meters.
RAMS RECORDS
- Manix set a new school record in the 400 with his time of 50.69.
- Catino matched his own school record in the pole vault at 3.80 meters.
- Connor Johnson recorded personal bests in the 200 (23.74) and 400 (53.11).
- St. Pierre (23.94) and Hosman (24.24) also posted collegiate bests in the 200.
- Carrillo leapt to a personal best 3.45 meters in the pole vault.
- Brown achieved a career best in the weight throw (10.11 meters).
