FITCHBURG, Mass. – A handful of personal records fell as Suffolk men's outdoor track & field competed at Fitchburg State's Jim Sheehan Invite Saturday afternoon.
RAMS RUNNERS
- The quartet of Charlie Billard (11.75), Eddie Hindle (12.05), Marco Gomez (12.51) and Brendan Eddy (12.64) all sprinted the 100.
- The same foursome from the 100 represented the blue-and-gold in the 200. Billard headlined the group with a 12th-place performance behind a time of 23.78.
- Eric Anderson (2:17.26) and Michael Najarian (2:22.19) made two laps around the track in the 800.
- Anderson clocked a 4:45.90 in the 1500 to take 23rd, while Najarian was three spots behind his teammate with a time of 4:46.87.
- Jack Marston slid into sixth with 5000 when he crossed the tape in 16:08.01.
JUMPERS JIST
- Joshua Catino and Nico Carrillo finished one after another in the pole vault. Catino finished third with a personal-best 3.65-meter effort, while Carrillo's fourth-spot performance was with a 3.50-meter performance.
FIELDERS FACTS
- George Mirogiannis tossed the javelin 39.55 meters to finish 17th.
- Mirogiannis heaved the hammer 32.86 to take 18th and Connor Brown produced a 22.38-meter effort in the same event.
- Brown heaved the shot put 10.05 meters.
RAMS RECORDS
- Catino recorded a personal-best in the pole vault as he cleared 3.65 meters.
- In the 100, the trio of Billard (11.75), Hindle (12.05) and Gomez (12.51) all logged personal bests.
- Anderson produced a personal-record in the 1500 of 4:45.90.
YOU'RE NEW HERE
- Hindle and Marston made their outdoor debut.
- Anderson ran the 800 for the first time in his collegiate career.
- Mirogiannis competed in the hammer throw for the first time
