Men’s Track & Field Breaks Two Program Records at Sean Collier Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Suffolk men's outdoor track & field delivered a record-setting day Saturday at the MIT Sean Collier Invitational as the 4x100 relay team broke the program-record and Tighe Hosman reset his own school mark in the 400m hurdles. 

RAMS RUNNERS

  • Michael Nossek set the tone in the 100, finishing seventh in 11.00, with Connor Johnson (11.56), Eddie Hindle (11.73), Charlie Billard (11.84), Marco Gomez (12.46), and Cormac O'Brien (12.80) rounding out the sprint group.
  • Tighe Hossman cleared the 110m hurdles in 16.10 to place 14th.
  • The 4x100 quartet of NossekJohnson, Emmett St. Pierreand Mohamed Mehaya clicked for a fourth-place finish in 43.60, establishing a new program record.
  • The 200 group was paced by Nossek (23.57), followed by Billard (23.82), Nico Carrillo (24.52), Hindle (24.66), Brendon Eddy (25.13), Gomez (25.32), and O'Brien (26.58).
  • Will Manix took11th in the 400 in 50.75, with St. Pierre right behind in 53.43.
  • Hossman delivered again in the 400m hurdles, finishing seventh in 57.69 and lowering his own program standard, while Johnson crossed in 1:01.75 for 15th.
  • Jack Marston handled the 800 in 2:13.37 for 37th.
  • The 1500 featured a deep Suffolk group led by Matthew Ramage (17th, 4:15.65), followed by Marston (4:19.85), Sean Jacobsen (4:23.77), Eric Anderson (4:41.51), and Michael Najarian (4:44.77).
  • Declan Shannon wrapped the distance slate in 15th in the 5000 at 16:48.58.

FIELDERS FACTS

  • George Mirogiannis registered a javelin throw of 36.41 meters for 11th place.
  • Mirogiannis added a 35.06-meter effort in the hammer throw. Connor Brown contributed a 28.31-meter mark.

RAMS RECODS

  • The 4x100 relay squad set a new program standard with a 43.60 performance.
  • Hossman improved his own school record in the 400m hurdles, stopping the clock at 57.69.
  • Manix broke through with a personal-best 50.75 in the 400.
  • Hindle (11.73) and Gomez (25.32) each logged personal-best sprint marks.
  • Brown added a collegiate best hammer throw of 28.31 meters.
