Softball Soars Back in Nightcap at Curry, 10-1

MILTON, Mass. – Suffolk softball's bats came alive in game two at D. Forbes Will Field as the Rams ran past Curry, 10-1, to split the Conference of New England (CNE) twin bill Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Suffolk grabbed a 3-0 lead in the top of the first before the Colonels responded with one run in the home half of the opening inning.
  • It was all Rams from there as Lily Newhall shutdown Curry and the blue-and-gold piled on seven runs over the final three innings for the lopsided 10-1 victory.

PITCHERS PICTURE

  • Newhall notched a one-run, nine-hit, two-walk, five-strikeout, complete-game victory. 
  • Kassidy Lobb took the loss as she gave up five runs on eight hits and one strikeout through 4.0 innings. 
  • Tara Goldman allowed five runs on seven hits and one walk with one K through 2.0 innings. 
  • Ana Tsonis fired 1.0 inning of scoreless relief with one hit allowed. 

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Dana Still went 3-for-4 at the dish with two RBI and one run. 
  • Catherine Carignan had three hits as well including one double, for two RBI and two runs scored. 
  • Julia Mills notched two hits, one RBI, one walk, one run and one stolen base. 
  • Ava Lanza recorded three runs and two hits. 
  • Roma Braid brought in three runs on one hit to go along with one run and one stolen base.

  • Suffolk defeated Curry for the first time since April 16, 2025, a 9-6 decision.
