Women's Hoops Extend Win Streak to Six Games
Rams continue hot streak in GNAC action getting total team effort as 11 players reach the scoring sheet.
Eleven players connected on at least one field-goal in a 78-38 victory for the Suffolk University Women's Basketball team over Anna Maria College on Wednesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
Senior Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.) had a team-high 15 points along with five rebounds and five assists to pace the Rams. Vienneau's five assists bring her to 401 for her career. Vienneau already holds the Suffolk all-time career record in assists and becomes just the seventh play in GNAC conference history to record at least 400 assists during their four-year career.
Junior Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) added a dozen points for the Rams who improve to a 13-4 mark on the year while they have won all five GNAC games this season. The win extends the Rams' winning streak to a season-high six games.
Freshman Chelsea Campellone (Fall River, Mass.) added a season-high nine points for the Rams, while sophomore Iliana Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) and senior Dominique Demar (Colchester, Conn.) each scored seven points. Suffolk finished the game shooting 58.6-percent from the field as a team on a combined 34-for-58 effort in the contest.
The win is the fourth victory of the season for the Rams of a margin of 20-points or better, and second 40-point spread.
Suffolk will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they host Emerson College in GNAC action at the Regan Gymnasium at 1:00pm.
