The Suffolk University Women's Basketball team topped Wellesley College, 58-49 to earn a split as part of their trip to Puerto Rico in the San Juan Shootout.
Junior Alessandra Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) led all scorers with 18 points in Monday's victory for Suffolk as she finished with an 8-for-13 shooting performance from the field.
A total of nine players found their way onto the scoring sheet in the victory for Suffolk who improve to a 3-6 mark now on the season.
The Rams fell in their first game of the trip, 65-63 on Sunday afternoon to Marietta College. Senior Iliana Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) finished Sunday's game with a team-high 14 points while sophomore Kelsey Schiebel (Windham, N.H.) added 13 in the setback.
Senior Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) recorded 10 rebounds in each of the two games in the tournament for Suffolk. Brillaud and the Rams held a 41-36 advantage in the game on Monday in their win. Brillaud also added five points.
Both Iliana Quadri and Schiebel were a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in Monday's win. Quadri netted six points while Schiebel tallied seven.
Alessandra Quadri was also 2-for-5 from beyond the arc in the win.
Suffolk will be idle until after the New Year when they travel to Connecticut College on January 5 for a non-league matchup.
