SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Gabriella DeComo put on her Suffolk jersey one final time as the women's basketball senior represented the Rams at the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Senior All-Star Classic held at Springfield's Blake Arena over the weekend.  

DeComo, a five-year member of the Suffolk program, participated in the 2022 all-star outing as part of the away team. The guard from Portsmouth, Rhode Island, was one of two Rams to be selected to in the event along with her co-captain, point guard Jenni-Rose DiCecco. DiCecco could not make the trip to Western Massachusetts due to a schedule conflict.  

DeComo's selection to the all-star outing came after she wrapped up her collegiate career with her first all-conference honor with a spot on the CCC's third team. The distinction came on the heels of a season in which she provided 10.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in Suffolk's first campaign in the CCC.

The pair is the first set of Suffolk student-athletes to earn a spot in the coveted game in the same season in program history. Overall, they are just the second and third Rams in the record book to be selected, first to do so since Georgia Bourikas was in 2018.
