NORTH HAMPTON, Mass. – Suffolk women's basketball's Amanda DeAngelis picked up a spot on the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) after her double-double performance at Salve Regina.
The grad student from Londonderry, New Hampshire, poured in 17 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in the 74-61 loss to the Seahawks the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The double-double was the forward's fifth of the year.
It is the second time this season DeAngelis has been recognized by the NEWBA as she earned a spot on the first team Nov. 27. It is the 11th weekly nod for DeAngelis from NEWBA in her collegiate career. Suffolk has had a player earn a weekly accolade over the last three weeks as Jordan Moreau was selected to the weekly first-team Nov. 20.
Suffolk and DeAngelis are back in action this Saturday, Dec. 7 when they entertain Curry at the Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court at 1:00 p.m.
