WENHAM, Mass. – Suffolk women's basketball capped off its 2025-26 season in winning fashion as it took down Gordon, 53-45, Saturday afternoon at the Bennett Center.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The lead see-sawed twice in the first frame and the playing field leveled three times with the last at 10 at the 3:06 mark. Suffolk controlled the pace of play from there as it ended the first quarter with six unanswered to go up 16-10. Allison Bono provided four points and Claire Berkowitz added two in that stretch.
- The Fighting Scots rallied out of the huddle on a 7-2 run to slice the gap to one, 18-17, with 6:26 to go before half time. The Rams calmed down and closed out the second stanza on a 11-3 stretch to go into the locker room with a 29-20 cushion. Once again Bono supplied four points to that half-ending run that saw two points apiece from Berkowitz, Ella Nixon and Ava Thurman.
- A nearly even third quarter allowed the Rams to take a double digit lead, 41-30, into the fourth.
- A back-and-forth fourth quarter allowed Suffolk to maintain a margin and walk away with the year-ending 53-45 victory.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Bono compiled an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double with five assists and one steal. The guard shot 8-for-15 from the field in all 40 minutes of action.
- Tatiana Tune tallied 12 points behind a 6-for-11 showing from the floor to go along with, two caroms and one takeaway.
- Berkowitz added 10 points thanks to a 4-for-6 effort from the field that included a 2-for-4 effort from 3-point land. The junior's stat line featured a pair of boards, one assist and one steal as well.
- Olivia Verdile had an all-around effort of six rebounds, five points and two assists.
- As a team, Suffolk shot 40.7 percent from the field and 70.0 percent from the charity stripe.
- The Rams outrebounded the Fighting Scots, 51-34.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk defeated Gordon for the third straight meeting to move to 11-6 in the all-time series with the Fighting Scots.
- The Rams are now 6-2 on the road versus Gordon.
- Bono produced her fifth double-double of her career, all of which came this season.
