BOSTON – Brooke Bugajewski will take on the leadership role for Suffolk women's golf in 2025-26 as head coach Jay Parker has named the junior captain for the program's 10th varsity season.
Bugajewski begins her second season in the role, first as a solo captain. She is the first Ram to lead with no help since Nicole Antonucci did so in 2020-21. Bugajewski is also the second-ever player to serve two terms as the women's golf team's captain, first to do so since Antonucci. She became the youngest player to captain the squad a year ago when she earned the title as a sophomore.
"Brooke is a tremendous leader and one of the hardest working players we've had in a long time," Parker said.
Bugajewski, a native of Bloomfield, Michigan, has been a staple on Suffolk's score card throughout her career. Her athletic achievements have been highlighted by Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) Rookie of the Year in 2023-24, which helped the blue-and-gold clinch the conference crown and the program's first-ever berth to the NCAA Division III Championships. She is a two-time all-league performer with a spot on the conference's first team a year ago.
Off the green, Bugajewski, who is working towards her bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in Finance, holds a near perfect grade point average and it shows with a pair of Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar honors, as well as four AD Honor Roll selections.
In her second straight season as captain, Bugajewski will help the Rams navigate a new era, its first in the Conference of New England (CNE).
The team will have five meets leading up to the league championship, which is on tap Columbus Day Weekend, at the Keney Park Golf Course in Hartford, Connecticut. Suffolk will get its first look at that course opening weekend, Sept. 6-7, at the CNE Preview.
