WINDSOR, Conn. – Suffolk women's golf opened its 2025-26 season with a second-place performance at the Hartford Hawks Women's Invitational at the Keney Park Golf Course.
The two-day event was shortened to just one round of 18 holes after inclement weather struck late Saturday into the early hours Sunday.
After 18 holes, the Rams compiled a team-card of 336, good for second in the eight-team varsity field, behind Bentley, who racked up a 328. Suffolk was the best NCAA Division III team at the event ahead of its Conference of New England (CNE) counterparts Nichols (365), Hartford (373) and Gordon (454) that took sports five through eight. Roger Williams was featured in field as well.
Individually, a pair of Rams found their way in the top-10. Krisna Mahendran shined for Suffolk as the sophomore shot an 81, good for a share of fourth in the field of 38.
Junior Brooke Bugajewski was one stroke behind Mahendran (82) to finish in a tie of seventh.
Sophomore Emory Goodson was just outside the top-10 with as she slid into 11th with an 85.

In her collegiate debut, freshman Lauren Phelan locked up 16th with an 88, while sophomore Alexia Hill secured a share of 34th with a card of 101.
The action not only served as Suffolk's 10th season opener, but served as prep for the inaugural CNE Championship, which is scheduled to take place at the same course Oct. 11-12.
The Rams have four events to prep for the conference championship though, first is the Westfield State Invite Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Tekoa Country Club in Westfield, Massachusetts.
