Women’s Golf Takes 12th at Polar Bear Shootout

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Suffolk women's golf turned in a 12th-place performance at the Polar Bear Shootout over the weekend at the Brunswick Golf Club.  

The Rams shot a 358 on Saturday and shaved 10 strokes off that performance on the second day on the course in Vacation Land, good for a 705 to claim 12th in the 14-team field.  

Krisna Mahendran was one stroke ahead of Suffolk's 36-hole Brunswick Country Club record as she finished with a 165, good for a share of 50th in the 86-golfer field. The Katy, Texas native shot a plus-9 (82) on day one and tacked on one addition stroke on Sunday.

Junior Brooke Bugajewski secured a share of 61st with a 172.  

Freshman Lauren Phelan and sophomore Emory Goodson shared 74th one another as the Rams' blue-and-gold freshman and sophomore both finished with a 184. 

Sophomore Alexia Hill rounded out Suffolk's student-athletes on the course with a 194 to take 79th.  

Suffolk turns its attention to the inaugural Conference of New England (CNE) Championship that tees off next weekend, Oct. 11-12 at the Keney Park Golf Course in Hartford, Connecticut.
