WINDSOR, Conn. – The first-ever Conference of New England Women's Golf Champion hails from Boston as Suffolk women's golf was in the driver's seat at the league championship from the get-go and never looked back to claim the CNE Title over the weekend at the Keney Park Golf Course.
After a year of build-up, preparation and excitement, the inaugural CNE trophy belongs to Suffolk thanks to a two-day card of 695. The Rams held a five-stroke lead going into day two and put together a score of 353 on a rainy Sunday to sit atop the five-team field. The blue-and-gold finished 16 strokes ahead of runner-up and host Hartford (711), while Nichols (750) rounded out the top three teams.
With the conference crown secured, Suffolk has earned the CNE's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship, which will take place May 19-22, 2026 at the Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California.
The Rams will represent the University at NCAAs for the second time in program history, first since 2024. This is the third league tournament title in program history for Suffolk, first since 2024 when it grabbed the Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) championship. It is the second time in the blue-and-gold's record book that it won a conference's inaugural title, first since it took home the first-ever NWGC Championship in 2019.
Suffolk's trophy case now features three conference championships (2019 NWGC, 2024 NWGC, 2025 CNE) and a three regional, New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) titles (2017, 2018, 2021).
Sophomore Krisna Mahendran landed in a three-way tie for first place after a 36-hole card of 164 (+24) with the University of New England's Amanda Forziati and Abby Flanagan. The trio went to a hole-by-hole playoff to determine individual medalist, CNE Player of the Year distinction. The triad all hit par on the first playoff attempt, before Flanagan hit a birdie on the second go-around to take the tournament's top individual recognition.
Brooke Bugajewski was two strokes of the podium as the junior who was in the first of day one alongside her teammate Mahendran and UNE's Amanda Forziati tacked on two additional strokes on Sunday to finish with a 166, good for fourth in the 30-golfer field.
Two spots behind Bugajewski was sophomore Emory Goodson in sixth thanks to a 173.
Thanks to their individual performances, Mahendran, Bugajewski and Goodson all locked up All-CNE honors. With finishes in the top four, Mahendran and Bugajewski were named to the first-team, while Goodson secured a second-team selection.
Bugajewski earned her third all-league distinction second straight second-team selection, while Mahendran took home her second straight all-conference nod in as many years, first first-team nod. Goodson, meanwhile, grabbed an all-league nod for the first time in her collegiate career.
Sophomore Alexia Hill (193) and freshman Lauren Phelan (194) finished one after another in 13th and 14th, respectively.
The championship competition completed the Rams 2025 fall schedule. Head coach Jay Parker will announce Suffolk's 2026 Spring slate early this winter with all sights set on the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
