Women’s Golf Takes Fifth at Camp Lejeune Championship

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – Suffolk women's golf competed at the fourth Camp Lejeune Women's Intercollegiate Championship April 10-12 at Paradise Point Golf Course and turned in a fifth-place finish in an 11-team field.

The Rams posted a three-round total of +145 (45-50-50) to secure their top-five showing. Oglethorpe took home the team title at +61, followed by Virginia Wesleyan (+94) and Pfeiffer (+118). Shenandoah finished just ahead of Suffolk in fourth at +144, while Stevenson (+160), Bridgewater (+168), Husson (+218), Roanoke (+265), Meredith (+350) and Averett rounded out the field.

Krisna Mahendran led the way for Suffolk with a three-day total of +30 (80-82-81) to finish 13th overall.

Emory Goodson and Lauren Phelan each turned in identical +35 scores over the three rounds to tie for 18th. Goodson carded rounds of 80, 84 and 84, while Phelan finished with rounds of 83, 82 and 83.

Brooke Bugajewski rounded out Suffolk's lineup with a +45 (86-86-86) to place 31st.

Suffolk returns to the course April 18-19 at the Hartford/Trinity Invitational, set to be played at Rockledge Golf Club in West Hartford, Connecticut.
