2021-22 SUFFOLK WOMEN'S HOCKEY SCHEDULE
BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey has unveiled the schedule for its fourth season with 25 games in store for the 2021-22 edition of the Rams, head coach Taylor Wasylk announced Tuesday afternoon. The slate features the team's transition into the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and 13 home bouts at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.
Action opens on the blue-and-gold's home ice for the second straight season as Suffolk welcomes Plymouth State to Eastie on Friday, Oct. 29. The Rams waste little time before their first road test of the year as they head across town the next day, Saturday, Oct. 30, for a battle at UMass Boston.
A home-and-home with Worcester State Nov. 5-6 will serve as final prep before the CCC calendar commences the following weekend (Nov. 12-13) with a home-and-away against Curry. The Rams remain in league action, which will continue to consist of an home-and-homes, as a clash with University of New England precedes Thanksgiving Break (Nov. 19-20) and a matchup against Salve Regina comes after the short break (Dec. 4-5).
Suffolk rests from its two-game CCC series with a trip to Springfield, Massachusetts, on tap for Tuesday, Dec. 7 when it will tangle with Western New England in league play.
The first semester wraps up Friday, Dec. 10 when the Rams journey to Hartford, Connecticut, for a matchup with NESCAC opponent Trinity.
After a month-long break, Suffolk opens the New Year in title town with its second NESCAC foe in a row Connecticut College, Tuesday, Jan. 11.
The contest with the Camels readies the Rams for a string of conference outings that close out the month of January. The last three weekends of the first month of the year include home-and-home clashes with Western New England (Jan. 14-15), Nichols (Jan. 21-22) and Endicott (Jan. 28-29).
To begin the month of February, the Rams will host Curry Friday, Feb. 4, before traveling to Newport, Rhode Island, for a Salve showdown two days later.
Suffolk takes a break from conference clashes Tuesday, Feb. 8 when Amherst visits East Boston. The Mammoths are the third NESCAC rival for the blue-and-gold in 2021-22 and will conclude then non-conference campaign.
The Rams will then sandwich an away tilt at Nichols Saturday, Feb. 12 between home games versus UNE (Feb. 11) and Endicott (Feb. 18) to wrap up regular-season action.
The bulk of the Rams' roster from a year ago returns highlighted by upperclassmen forwards Maddy Burton (3g, 7a), Shana Cote (4g, 4a), defensemen Madison Duff (2g, 2a)and a pair of goaltender gloves in Lily O'Neil (3.41 GAA, .872 save %) and Julia McLellan (2.90 GAA, .907 save %). The veterans will be complimented by another talented recruiting class brought in by Wasylk.
