SUFFOLK WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY ALL-TIME CAPTAINS
BOSTON – Suffolk women's ice hockey will see three Rams wear the 'C' as third-year head coach Abby Ostrom has named Jenna Caballero, Liliana Moose and Katie Newkirk as captains for the 2025-26 campaign.
"I am really excited for our tri-captains to lead our team this season," Ostrom said. "The three of them lead in different ways, but they complement each other very well and should be able to help guide our team in a positive fashion. At their core, they are good people and want what's best for the program and their teammates.
The group is the first-ever trio to wear a letter in the program's eight-year history and inaugural tri-captains to share the leadership responsibilities. Each captain earned the role for the first time in their collegiate career.
Caballero has been a consistent presence for Suffolk's scoring with double-digit point productions over the last three seasons. A year ago, the forward had a knack for setting-up the Rams' offense with a team-high 13 helpers to go along with one strike of her own. In 79 games played, the senior from Middletown, New Jersey native has recorded 41 points on 14 goals and 27 assists.
Moose, a senior from Rochester, New York, has not only been instrumental to the defense, but the blue liner has produced nine assists in every season dating back to 2022 to have 27 helpers in her career scattered over 77 games. A year ago, she potted a career-high five goals to bring her overall point total to 37 (10g, 27a).
Newkirk, who the forward that calls Montclair, New Jersey home, has assembled an 18-point stat line evenly split between goals (9) and set-ups (9).
Anchored by this group, Suffolk's sights are set on the 2025-26 opener, a Conference of New England (CNE) home-and-home series with Curry Nov. 7-8.
