EAST BOSTON – Suffolk women's ice hockey stumbled in its New Years debut as Conn. College took down the Rams, 5-2, Friday night at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Suffolk opened the scoring as Bella Schmidt converted Alexia Hill's face-off win 1:54 into the action into the first goal of the evening.
- Connecticut College responded and leveled the playing field at the 14:17 mark thanks to Olivia Montembeault's rebound. Christine Oar had the initial shot that was denied by Katelyn Michals and Jess Pistorino had a hand in the game-tying goal as well.
- The Camels leapt in front with two unanswered tallies in the second to send Suffolk into the second intermission down, 3-1.
- Conn. College lengthened its lead 5:39 into the third period before the Rams attempted a comeback. The duo of Hill and Schmidt teamed up for the second time, this time reversing roles to trim the gap back to a pair, 4-2, with 13:24 remaining in regulation.
- With time no longer on its side, the blue-and-gold pulled Michals from her post in net with 2:34 left on the clock. The Camels capitalized with an empty netter 10 seconds later to put the game just out of reach.
NETMINDER NOTES
- Michals took the loss despite a 48 save performance.
- Devon Galizio earned the win behind a 26-stop effort.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Hill and Schmidt had identical one-goal, one-assist stat lines to be responsible for Suffolk's offense.
- The Camels commanded the pace of play, outshooting the Rams, 53-28.
- The blue-and-gold went 1-for-3 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.
NOTEWORTHY
- Schmidt had her second multi-point game of the season, first since Nov. 22, 2025 versus Western New England.
- Hill produced two points for the second time this year, first since Nov. 14, 2025 against Nichols.
