Trio to Captain Women’s Lacrosse in 2026

BOSTON – Suffolk women's lacrosse will be led by three Rams for its second season as head coach Carolynn Keal named senior Emily Briand and sophomores Gracelyn Laperle and Lauren Woods tri-captains for the 2026 campaign.  

Laperle and Woods return to the post for their second season, while Briand earned the role for the first time in her collegiate career. The group is the first trio to share the captain responsibilities in the young program's history.  

Briand, who calls Manchester, New Hampshire home, appeared in all 17 games last season. The defender recorded nine ground balls and 11 caused turnovers.  

Briand's fellow defender, Laperle, brought her talents to Beantown from Woodstock, Vermont. A year ago, she played in 15 outings and started 14. Her stat line featured 27 ground balls, one draw control and 11 caused turnover. 

Woods, the lone midfielder of the threesome. The Peabody, Massachusetts product produced 24 points on 16 goals and eight assists in her 17 appearances, all starts. She added 46 draw controls, 39 ground balls and 22 caused turnover. 

Suffolk's second season is set to get underway a week from today, Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Fitchburg State at 4:00 p.m.
