EAST BOSTON – Suffolk women's lacrosse put the first four goals on the board and never looked back to roll past Western New England, 9-6, Wednesday night at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park. The Conference of New England (CNE) triumph is the program's first over the Golden Bears and snapped a four-game skid for the blue-and-gold.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Suffolk leapt out to a 4-0 lead seven minutes into the game as Zoe Peckham bookend goals around strikes by Lauren Woods and Stella MacLelland. Out of a Western New England timeout the Golden Bears got on the board behind Ella Henry at the 5:59 mark before Jessie Le responded for the Rams with help from Julia Dickinson to pad the host advantage to 5-1 at the end of the opening quarter.
- Both teams found the back of the cage once in the second stanza to keep the four-goal margin intact for the blue-and-gold, 6-2, as the teams headed to the locker room. Peckham was responsible for Suffolk's score in the second to bring her night total to a hat trick at half time.
- Over the first eight minutes of the third quarter, Woods and Peckham sandwiched goals around a Western New England tally to lengthen its lead to five. The Golden Bears put away two unanswered in the final 3:27 of the frame, however, to trim the deficit to three, 8-5.
