EAST BOSTN – A sluggish second half cost Suffolk women's lacrosse its non-conference finale as Maine Maritime Academy outscored the Rams, 6-2, over the final 30 minute to hand the Rams' a 9-6 setback Saturday afternoon at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first frame was scoreless until the final 2:19 when Zoe Peckham made hot with no help to put the Rams on the board. Carley Ehwa padded Suffolk's advantage to a pair two minutes later as she scored unassisted to send the blue-and-gold into the second quarter ahead, 2-0.
- The teams exchanged two goals apiece to keep the gap at two. Julia Dickinson scored her first of the day, while Peckham produced her second to be responsible for the Rams scoring in that stretch. Bella Scolaro earned a free position attempt with seconds remaining in the second stanza. Scolaro capitalized on the free position and scored to cut Suffolk's lead to one, 4-3, at halftime.
- A Charlotte Goodman goal at the 7:50 mark of the third restored the multi-goal cushion for the Rams, 5-3. It was all Mariners from there as the visitors poured in three unanswered to close out the quarter Suffolk down one, 6-5.
- Momentum remained in the Mariners' favor in the final 15 minutes as they scored three consecutive tallies to extend their advantage to 9-5. Dickinson turned a free position shot into a goal in the final five seconds for the 9-6 final.
