Ehwa’s Seven Points Lifts Women’s Lacrosse Over Wentworth, 18-6

BOSTON – Carley Ehwa's seven-point performance (6g, 1a), highlighted by an 11-0 second-half run, powered Suffolk women's lacrosse to an 18-6 victory over Wentworth Tuesday afternoon at Sweeney Field.

Zoe Peckham and Stella MacLelland also added hat tricks in the outing.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Carley Ehwa opened the scoring just 1:02 into the contest with an unassisted goal. Wentworth answered five minutes later with a man-up tally to even the score at 1-1. Ehwa netted her second goal at the 3:16 mark of the first quarter to give Suffolk a 2-1 lead heading into the second.
  • Ehwa completed her hat trick early in the second quarter with a goal at 12:58. Wentworth responded less than three minutes later to make it 3-2. Stella MacLelland extended the lead with an unassisted strike, but the Leopards answered again to keep it a one-goal game, 4-3, with 6:07 remaining in the half. Zoe Peckham scored a man-up goal, and Charlotte Goodman and Julia Dickinson added late tallies to send Suffolk into halftime with a 7-4 advantage.
  • Wentworth opened the second half with back-to-back goals and held Suffolk scoreless for the first 9:20 to cut the deficit to 7-6. MacLelland snapped the drought off a feed from Dickinson, sparking a dominant stretch as the Rams closed the game on an 11-0 run, with goals from Ehwa (3), Peckham (3), Lauren Woods (2), Dickinson, and MacLelland.

GOALIE LOG

  • Charlotte Guziejka recorded 12 saves in the contest.
  • Megan Cassady recorded five saves before being relieved by Lily Cohen at halftime, who stopped two shots.
