Women’s Lacrosse Makes CNE Tournament as Sixth Seed

CNE Women's Lacrosse Tournament Central

BEVERLY, Mass. – For the first time in program history Suffolk women's lacrosse is postseason bound as the Rams locked up the sixth seed in the 2026 Conference of New England (CNE) Tournament.

Under the leadership of second-year head coach Carolynn Keal Suffolk assembled a 5-5 league ledger, good for a share of sixth place in the conference standings alongside Western New England (9-8). Thanks to the blue-and-gold's 9-6 win over the Golden Bears April 8, the Rams secured the sixth and final spot in the six-team field tournament, that gets underway with first round play this Saturday, April 25.

The Rams, who upstaged their program's win record with an 8-9 overall record, will take their talents to Providence, Rhode Island this weekend to face third seed Johnson & Wales. The Wildcats sit 9-7 on the year and 7-3 versus conference counterparts.

In the regular season matchup, Suffolk fell to JWU, 20-9, March 28 in Eastie. That battle in Boston was the first-ever meeting between the programs.

The victor of Saturday's showdown punches its ticket to the semifinals, which is set for Wednesday, April 29 at second seed Roger Williams.

The other side of the bracket featured fifth seed University of New England at fourth seed Hartford in round one with regular-season champion, top-seed Endicott awaiting the winner.

The 2026 CNE Women's Lacrosse Champion will be crowned Saturday, May 2 at the highest remaining seed and earn the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament.
