Women's Soccer Pick Up First Win, 4-0

Nashua, NH – Suffolk freshman Taylor Miranda (Smithtown, N.Y.) netted two of the team’s four goals in the first half as Suffolk University defeated host Daniel Webster College, 4-0 Wednesday in the Eagles’ season opener.

Gabrielle Balestrier (Mohnton, Penn.) added a goal and assist while Leslie Hayden (Ross, Cal.) chipped in with one as the Rams moved to 1-0-1 on the season, while the Eagles dropped to 0-1.

Amy Waller (Berlin, Mass.) of Daniel Webster had eleven saves in the contest, while Emily Joyce (Easton, Mass.) faced no shots on goal. Suffolk controlled the tempo through much of the contest, finishing with 33 total shots.

The Eagles return to action Saturday hosting Johnson State as part of a women’s-men’s doubleheader. The women play at 12:30 p.m. while the men follow against the Badgers at 3:00 p.m.
