BOSTON – Coming off a thrilling double overtime, season debut win Sunday, the Suffolk women's soccer team will play in front of its home crowd for the first time in 2019 Saturday, Sept. 7 when it entertains Fitchburg State at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park. Game time is set for 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Caitlin Ryan put away the game-winner with less than five minutes remaining in double overtime to push Suffolk women's soccer to a 2019 opening-day, 1-0 victory at Elms Sunday, Sept. 1 at Timothy J. Leary Field.
Fitchburg State shutout Dean, 2-0, to lift the lid on its campaign, but has since fallen in back-to-back outings – a 3-2 decision against Colby Sawyer and a 3-1 setback to Becker – to head into Saturday's showdown 1-2 on the year.
Elizabeth Reed sports a two-goal, two-assist stat line for a team-best six points, while Taylor Surrette and McKenzie Tenney have each put one goal away and helped on another to share second on the squad in points (3).
Emily Vitale started two games in net and is the gloves behind the Falcons win. The sophomore keeper has recorded seven saves in the 10 shots she faced to boasts a .700 save percentage and a 3.00 GAA. Dania Politi has seen time in each of Fitchburg State's contests. Over 180 minutes on the pitch, she has tallied 17 stops and allowed just three balls by her for a 1.50 GAA and a .850 save percentage.

- Suffolk and Fitchburg State will tangle for the first time.

Overall in 2019, Suffolk's men's and women's teams will play on the friendly confines of James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park on the same day three times – Sept. 7, Sept. 14 and Oct. 12.
