BOSTON – Two juniors will wear the 'C" for the 2025 Suffolk women's soccer season as fourth-year head coach Ellie McDougall has announced that Avery Porter and Isa Peraza will share the role.
"Isa and Avery were chosen as captains because they lead by example and are great representations of our program on the field and off," McDougall said. "They bring energy, integrity, and a deep commitment to the team, I have no doubt they'll help elevate us this season."
Porter, a Portland, Oregon native, has played in all, but four games over the last two years, starting 28, resulting in a pair of all-conference third-team honors. The midfielder has recorded 16 points throughout her collegiate career, eight in each season. As a freshman she put away eight goals en route to an all-conference third-team honor. A year ago, meanwhile, she notched three strikes and two set-ups, to share second on the squad in points.
Like Porter, Peraza, who hails from Las Vegas, Nevada, has had her name featured in the line-up in 28 games over the last two years. In her first collegiate campaign, she notched six points evenly divided between goals (2) and handouts (2). As a sophomore she registered seven points with a pair of markers and three helpers to earn a spot on the league's third team.
The pair of all-conference co-captains will lead McDougall's 29-player roster into the program's 19 varsity season that is scheduled to open Friday, Aug. 29 at Rensselaer at 3:30 p.m.
