United Soccer Coaches Region II Rankings
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Suffolk women's soccer earned a spot in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Regional Rankings for the first known time in program history Tuesday afternoon.
The Rams made the program debut in the eighth spot in Region II and their latest foe and Boston rival Emerson is one place ahead of the blue-and-gold, while their rival across the river, MIT, holds the top spot. Conference of New England (CNE) member Hartford is featured in the top-8 as well in third.
Suffolk started the year with a pair of 1-0 triumphs at RPI and UMass Dartmouth, respectively, before a scoreless draw at Emerson for an unblemished 2-0-1 ledger.
It is the second straight season the Rams have started unbeaten through their first three contests. Additionally, Suffolk has yet to concede a goal through its first three games for the second time in as many years.
Reigning CNE Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week Arden Rose has played a large part to Suffolk's early success with a pair of cleansheets to her credit in as many collegiate contests played. Lily Goldmann and Vivienne Murphy have supplied the blue-and-gold's offensive output with one-goal apiece.
Suffolk looks to keep its winning ways going tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 9 when it pulls the curtain back on its home calendar against Rivier. Kick-off at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park is scheduled for 7 p.m.
