Douglas Meloni joined Ellie McDougall's staff as an assistant coach for his first season in 2023 and begins his third year on staff in 2025.

Meloni helped Suffolk assemble an 8-8-3 overall record in 2022 that featured the best start in program history with a 5-1-1 record through the first seven games. His first season saw the Rams reach the postseason for the first time since 2021 and make to the CCC semifinals for the first-time in program history. 

In 2024, Meloni helped Suffolk to its best start in program history at 5-0-0. The Rams season evened out from there and ended 7-4-6 overall and 1-4-4 in CNE action. Thanks to the netminding of Arden Ferrari-Henry and Sophia Barker nine of the blue-and-gold's outings ended via shutout, which ties the program-record for the most cleansheets in a single season with the 2011 squad. On top of the keepers antics, three players, Isa Peraza, Avery Porter and Alex Roth had standout showings en route to spots on the conference's third-team.

Meloni, a well-versed club coach, began his first year on a NCAA collegiate coaching staff in 2022, while continuing his post as the head coach of three different Mass City Footclub Teams. He also has done stints with Galway Rovers and Northwest United Soccer Club. 

Meloni, who is bilingual in Portuguese and English, began his coaching career in Brazil at the Sao Paulo Futebol Clube in 2015.
