NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Suffolk women's tennis team played its way into the win column for the first time in the 2019 season Saturday afternoon when the Rams bested Albertus Magnus, 7-2, in GNAC competition at the Celentano Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams swept doubles action to gain a hefty 3-0 lead.
Alyssa Blade and Barbara Consales, who made their debuts as doubles partners, were the first Suffolk pair to post a decision as they best Nayelli Garcia and Andreah Orr, 8-3, on the third court. Sophomore co-captains Ilda Ascic and Kendall Smith teamed up for an 8-6 decision over Jessica Coughlin and Mariah Mandulak at No. 1. Jordan Miller and Bianca Prescott mirrored that score from the second court against Nalleyl Magana and Cassie Couture.
Suffolk quickly put the match away in singles action with three quick points.
Blade was the first too finish on court fifth. The freshman's golden match against Garcia set up match point, which was captured by Miller as the sophomore downed Magana, 6-3, 6-0, in the third position.
From there, Consales rallied past Couture, 2-6, 6-4, 10-6, in the fourth slot and Prescott defeated Orr, 6-0, 6-1, in the sixth spot to round out the Rams' single winners.
